Before you arrive
Here is the practical part: arrival, meals, seasons and a rough sense of the journey. Once you are here, the plan can loosen.
Getting here
Choose a starting point to see a broad visual of the journey. It is a sense of the trip, not turn-by-turn navigation—use Google Maps for live directions and road conditions.

When to come
Monsoon brings flowing streams and seasonal waterfalls. Winter and summer are quieter: forest days, lake evenings and sunset swims, subject to current conditions and on-ground guidance.

Life jackets are provided for water outings. Fresh towels and essential toiletries are ready in your villa.
You may find an occasional dead spot, but mobile signal is reliable for most calls, messages and everyday use.
Meals at By the Bruk
Breakfast is usually served between 8 and 11 am, lunch from 12:30 to 2 pm, and dinner between 8 and 9:30 pm. Timings can shift a little when breakfast runs late, and are especially flexible for guests booking the whole property.
By the Bruk does not sell alcohol. You are welcome to bring your own for meals or to enjoy at your villa; the team can point you towards nearby wine and liquor shops.
Your villa
Bougan’villa sleeps up to 9 guests and is suited to larger families and groups; Zen Villa sleeps up to 6. For a few additional guests, extra mattresses or beds may be possible on request—please ask before you book.
There is no need to dress up. Bring the people you like and clothes you can relax in.
Arriving by road
The dirt approach road from the main road is generally easy to drive. During particularly heavy rain or muddy conditions, a car with slightly better ground clearance is simply more comfortable—not a requirement.
Use live navigation for your final route, and feel free to call if you would like reassurance before setting out.
Outdoors & weather
Streams and waterfalls are rain-fed and seasonal. On days of heavy rain, a bonfire, barbecue or lake outing may be postponed or adjusted for comfort and safety.
Life jackets are provided for water outings, and we will always suggest what is best to enjoy on the day.
Pets & house notes
Pets are family here and stay free. Please bring their food, bowls, medication and the familiar things that help them settle in. We have resident animals on the property, so let us know ahead of time if your pet is uneasy around other animals.
To keep the villas fresh for every guest, pets may not sleep directly on mattresses, beds or sofas. If your pet normally sleeps beside you, please bring their own bed, sheet or protective cover. Cleaning costs will be assessed if a mattress or sofa needs special cleaning after a stay.
After a muddy adventure or a swim, please wipe paws before coming indoors, clean up in shared spaces and keep an eye on pets around the woods and streams. Smoking is welcome only in outdoor areas; it is not permitted inside rooms, villa interiors or By the Bruk restaurant.
What to bring
Comfortable trail shoes, rain gear in monsoon, sunscreen and a hat will take you far. Most of the year is warm; a light layer is useful for the occasional cooler evening.
Towels and essential toiletries are provided, so there is no need to pack those.
No formal clothes needed—this is a place for soft clothes, muddy paws and unplanned afternoon naps.
Booking with confidence
More than 14 days before check-in: a full refund, less payment-gateway charges. Between 7 and 14 days: a 50% refund. Less than 7 days before check-in, no-shows and early departures are non-refundable.
Long-weekend, festive-period and full-villa or group reservations are non-refundable. One date change may be considered 14 or more days in advance, subject to availability.
Mobility & comfort
Breathe Woods is a rustic nature stay with gently sloping paths and some steps around the property. It may not suit guests who require fully step-free access throughout, but we are happy to help families plan a comfortable stay.
For guests who prefer minimal walking from the car, our 3-bedroom Bougan'Villa is generally the most convenient option: vehicles can come close to the villa entrance, with two entry steps. We can also plan room allocation thoughtfully and arrange for meals to be served at the villa on request.
If someone in your group has a walking disability or specific mobility needs, please speak with us before booking. We will gladly talk through the layout and help you decide whether Breathe Woods is a comfortable fit.
